How to delete your data

You have three independent paths to remove your DOMS data. Use whichever fits your situation. We respond to every deletion request within 30 days; most are processed in under 24 hours.

Path 1 · Settings

Disconnect Instagram or request account closure

  1. Sign in to your DOMS account
  2. Open Settings → Integrations and click Disconnect Instagram. This revokes the OAuth grant immediately and removes the connected page from our system.
  3. To remove your tenant entirely during the beta, open Settings → Danger Zone and choose Email us to delete. The pre-addressed request goes to our privacy team; after we verify ownership, we disable automation and queue deletion of your conversations, prospects, traces, and configuration within 30 days.
Path 2 · Email request

Email a deletion request

  1. Send a deletion request to privacy@getdoms.co from the email address tied to your account.
  2. Include your business name, connected Instagram handle, and what you want deleted (the connected account only, all conversations, the entire tenant, etc.).
  3. We confirm receipt within 1 business day and complete the deletion within 30 days. We respond by email when the work is done.
Path 3 · Meta-initiated

Remove the app from your Instagram permissions

  1. Open Instagram → Settings → Apps and Websites → Active.
  2. Find DOMS in the list and click Remove.
  3. Meta sends our backend a signed deletion notice. We acknowledge it within 5 minutes and complete deletion within 30 days. You don't need to contact us — the flow is automatic.

What gets deleted

  • OAuth tokens for any connected accounts
  • Direct-message content (text, attachments, reactions, read receipts)
  • Prospect profile data (handle, follower count, follow relationship, AI-derived facts)
  • Conversation memory and AI inference traces tied to your tenant
  • Your tenant configuration, voice prompt, and tone settings

What we keep, briefly

Backups follow our database provider’s rolling 7–30 day schedule and are deleted on that cycle. Billing records that tax law requires us to retain stay in our finance system for the minimum statutory period. We do not retain anything else after a completed deletion.

For Meta App Review

Our data deletion callback URL is /api/data-deletion/meta. It accepts a Meta signed_request, verifies the HMAC against our configured app secret, records the request, and returns the JSON envelope Meta expects (url + confirmation_code). The full flow is described in our privacy policy §6.
